Virginia Johnston

Virginia Florence Ogg Johnston, 94, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away August 28, 2013, at Lakeview Village in Lenexa, Kansas. The family will hold a private graveside service. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Thomas Bingham Johnston, Sr., and her two sisters and two brothers.

Born in Richmond, Missouri, on October 15, 1918, Virginia was the daughter of William Clyde Ogg and Minnie Florence Joiner Ogg. She attended the University of Missouri, at Columbia. She worked for and retired from the Kansas City, Kansas, Board of Public Utilities in 1971.

Virginia is survived by her three children, Ann Johnston Wilkinson (Bruce) of Raleigh, North Carolina, Virginia "Kay" Johnston Tucker of Paola, Kansas, and Thomas B. Johnston, Jr. (Vicki) of Leawood, Kansas. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren, Neal Wilkinson, Cindy Reynolds, Lori Pote, Charles Campbell, David Wilkinson, Courtney Rorie, Betsy Nanson, and Ashli Welch; 17 great grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in Virginia's memory be made to Lakeview Village Centerpointe Care Center or Crossroads Hospice.
