Vivian Kay (Johnson) Wertjes, age 69, passed away peacefully at Northcare Hospice House in North Kansas City on Tuesday, November 2, 2021.
Vivian was born on December 21, 1951 to Bobbie D. and Alice S. Johnson in Pattonsburg, Missouri. She attended Cedar Falls High School in Cedar Falls, Iowa, graduating in the class of 1970. She married her high school sweetheart, Marlowe, on September 5, 1970.
Vivian was an avid crafter and enjoyed spending time out in her garden- her pride and joy that was featured in the Shawnee Garden Tour. She had an enormous heart, making sure that everyone felt welcomed and loved. Family meant so much to her, and she always wanted her family to be close.
Vivian is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Marlowe, and father Bobbie. She is survived by her children Matthew Wertjes and Stephanie (Johnny) Naylor; mother Alice Boushelle; grandchildren Samantha, Madalynn, Landon, Jett, and Sienna; great-grandchildren Hayleigh and Reign; siblings Jerry (Suk) Johnson, Gary (Trish) Johnson, and Dave (John) Johnson, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will dearly miss her.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 2 pm at the Amos Family Funeral Home.
