Wanda G. Strickland

Wanda G. Strickland, 89, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away January 6, 2013.

Wanda was born November 21, 1923, in Perry, Arkansas, to A. B. and Lanta (McGhee) Green. She was a graduate of Arkansas State Teacher's College. After which she taught in the Plainview-Rover School District. In 1945 she met her husband William A. Strickland, Jr. They were married June 2, 1946.

Wanda was preceded in death by a son, William Alva (Dub) Strickland, and a daughter-in-law Anita Strickland. She is survived by her husband William A. Strickland, Jr.; sons Robert A. Strickland (Ellen) and David A. Strickland; daughter-in-law Wanda Reece Strickland, and three grandchildren; Lea, Rebekah, and Matthew.

A visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Lenexa United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm also at the church. A reception will be held after the funeral.

Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 12, 2012, in McGhee Cemetery near Perry, Arkansas. under the direction of Harris Funeral Home, Morrilton, Arkansas.
