Warren L. Smith

Warren L. Smith, 89, Overland Park, Kansas, passed away, Sunday, December 9, 2012.

He was born September 28, 1923, in Lyndon, Kansas. to Melvin Roy Smith and Mabel Anna (Gibler) Smith. Following his service in the Navy he graduated from Baker University, then worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone, Union Asphalt and Roadoils and Vance Brothers. Warrenwas a member of the Beta Tau Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Warrenwas an active member of Countryside Christian Church in Mission, Kansas. He retired from the Naval Reserves.

He is survived by his daughters, Christa Pickett and her husband Oren of Lenexa, Kansas, grandson Chad Pickett and Lisa Bunce and her husband Larry of Stilwell, Kansas.

Funeral service will be 3 P.M., Thursday, December 13, 2012, at the Amos Family Funeral Home and Crematory; burial in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-3 P.M. before the service.

In lieu of flowers the family request contributions to Baker Universityor the local Alzheimers Association.
