Wayne Allen Henricks

Wayne Allen Henricks, 69, of Olathe, passed away Monday March, 9, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Wayne was born November 3, 1945 to the late Edgar and Mabel Henricks in Herington, Kansas. He graduated from Hope High School in 1963. Shortly after graduation Wayne enlisted in the Kansas National Guard and served on active duty during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home Wayne went to work for General Motors Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas City, KS, where he worked for 43.7 years, before retiring August 1, 2008. He was a dedicated husband, father, brother and loyal friend. Wayne was also a devout Christian and a dedicated member of Hope Lutheran Church, where he served on the Board of Trustees. He was a generous man and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Wayne was proud of his roots and loved to visit and work on the family farm. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Wayne is preceded in death by his brother, Maurice.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Janet; his daughters Sara and Andréa and her fiancé Brian Spieker; two brothers, Dean and wife Kathy, Vern and wife Lane; brother in Christ, Gene Schaaf and wife Deanna; and granddog, Merriweather Abigail.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, March 13 at the Amos Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Hope Lutheran Church, 6308 Quivira Road, Shawnee, KS 66216.
