Wayne Scott Slauson, 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 24, 2019, after a sudden and brief illness. He was born on May 29, 1929, in Albany, New York to Naomi Clementine Defreest and Harold Scott Slauson. Wayne served in active military duty in the Air Force from June 29, 1946 to May 23, 1949. When discharged, Wayne worked as a dispatcher for the Police Department and Fire Department in Topeka, KS for a short time before being employed by Santa Fe Railroad in Communications where he worked until his retirement in 1985. Wayne was a member of Masonic Golden Lodge #90. Wayne enjoyed being an amateur radio operator as a hobby for many years. He also enjoyed building computers and working outside.
Wayne married Rose Mendoza, (deceased) in April 1949. They had one son, David Scott Slauson (deceased).
Wayne married Fidelia Safford Bitler, (deceased) in Nov 1957. Survived by Connie Slauson Ubben, Janet Slauson Anderson, and Paul Leslie Slauson. In December 1978, Wayne married Bonnie Maurine Templin (deceased). Survived by step children, Karen S. Baker, Roger T. Templin, and Jeffre L. Templin. Wayne is also survived by many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.
