Wayne L. Stokes

Wayne L. Stokes, 92, of Wellsville, KS, formerly of Mer-riam, passed away, Thursday, August 3, 2017 at the Richmond Nursing Home in Richmond, KS.

Wayne was born in Springfield, MO. He was Navy Veteran of WWII. He worked at Western Electric for 32 years before he retired. He was a member of Bristol Hill United Methodist Church, the Abdallah Shrine, and was a 33rd Degree Mason (Lodge 54, Shawnee).

He is survived by his wife 71 years, Velda Stokes; a daughter, Lee Anne Sexton, of Greenville, TN; sons Russell Stokes, of Wellsville, KS and Dennis Stokes, of Wichita, KS; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:30 am, Wednesday, August 9, at the Amos Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be 10 - 11:30 am, Wednesday. Burial will be in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
