Wilbur E. Zipp

Wilbur Eugene Zipp, 85, Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Friday, May 28, 2011, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.

He was born April 20, 1926, in Eudora, Kansas, to Robert and Emma Louise (Steffen) Zipp. He was a graduate of Shawnee Mission Rural High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army Paratroopers during WWII. On April 2, 1948, Wilbur married Virginia L. Geysels in Shawnee, Kansas. Wilbur was an office manager at CIT Credit Corp. and sales manager at Bud Brown Chrysler/Plymouth retiring at the age of 80.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Virginia Lee Zipp; daughter Debbie Zipp; son, Cary Lynn Zipp; three sisters, Mildred Zipp, Virginia Rose Zipp and Patty Toozer; two brothers, Norman Zipp and George Zipp; and seven grandchildren, Trevor, Cali, Ashley, Charles, twins Devin and Wyatt, and Ethan.

Visitation and Funeral Service

Visitation will be from 12:30-1:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Funeral service to follow at 1:30 p.m. Entombment in the Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
