Wilhelmina “Willie” V. Giesen

November 4, 2016, "Willie" was taken home by our Lord. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 21st, at Christ Lutheran Church, 11720 Nieman, Overland Park, Kansas. Willie was born to Frederic A. Werth and Bernida Resing on February 15, 1924 in New Haven, Connecticut. Willie met the love of her life, O. Karl Giesen, in New York City and they enjoyed 58 years together until Karl's death in 2002. Willie is survived by two sons, Roger of Olathe, Kansas and Karl (wife Diane) of Palmdale, California; also five grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Willie will be missed, but always remembered for her sense of humor and caring heart. A special thanks to all Willie's friends at Tallgrass Creek, the doctors, nurses and care-givers who have taken such great care of Willie the past few years, providing so much love and support.
