William H. Harlow

Bill Harlow, 93, of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away January 28, 2013.

Bill was born March 20, 1919, in Konantz, Colorado, to James and Amelia (Honey) Harlow. He joined the US Army in October 1943 and retired in 1974 with the rank of Command Sergeant Major. During his 30 year military career he served his country in WWII, the Korean War, and Vietnam. Bill met his wife June while both were serving in the Panama Canal Zone.

They were united in marriage in 1962. He was a proud member of the St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Shawnee, Kansas, and a 60 year member and Past Master of the Shawnee Masonic Lodge #54. During those 60 years he received many awards and held many offices within the Lodge.

Bill is survived by his wife June; a daughter Anne Lubinski (Joe); grandchildren, Theresa, Danny, and Catherine; a great-granddaughter Alyssa; and by cousins in the US and England, especially Lyn & Patty Hartley.

Visitation and Funeral Service

A visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 31, 2013, at the Amos Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The funeral and Masonic services will follow at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Leavenworth National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shawnee Masonic Lodge #54 or St. Luke's Episcopal Church.
