William L. “Bill” Lehman

William “Bill” Lehman, 75, from Lenexa, Ks. took the stairway to heaven on November 26th at Shawnee Gardens Nursing Home in Shawnee , KS. He was born and raised in Carlisle, PA and worked for Reece Hoffman supervising the making of quartz crystals for the use in the NASA space program and other electronic firms. Spiedel Corporation moved him to Kansas City and when they closed he continued his work in sales and management until he retired from Water One in 2009. He was a devoted Chiefs fan, Red Coater, and loved to travel. He loved making others laugh, caring for his dogs, and cheering on The Penn State Nittany Lions. He is proceeded in death by his brother, Richard Lehman, father, Lester Lehman and step-father, Richard Gatten . He is survived by his mother, Thelma Gatten (Unger), and a sister, Martha Russell (Lehman). He is also survived by his soulmate & best friend of 34 years, his wife, Carol Jean Lehman (LaCombe). Daughters, Sue Harlan (Lehman) and Julie Josendale (Lawrence), grandchildren, Samantha Harlan and Brayden Josendale. He also leaves several loving nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to Great Lakes Hospice, and Shawnee Gardens Healthcare & Rehabilitation Services.

A visitation will be November 30th at 11:00 am at Amos Family Funeral Home 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, Kansas 66203 with a service at 12:00 pm at Amos Family Funeral Home. There will be burial following the service at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
