William R. Oconnor

William Richard O’Connor, 83, of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away, August 4, 2011, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.

He was born October 28, 1927, in Iowa Falls, Iowa. He worked as an aircraft mechanic for TWA and retired in 1985. He was an Air Force Veteran of WWII. Bill was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the VFW and American Legion in Shawnee.

Surviving are wife, Phyllis; sons, Bill, Thomas, John, and Keith; daughters, Barbara, Carol, and Karen; brothers and sisters, Bernie O’Connor, Patricia Adkison, Bud O’Connor, Bob O’Connor, Mary Lou Stephenson, Margaret Cryer, David O’Connor, Mike O’Connor and Pat O’Connor; 10 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Visitation and Funeral Mass

The Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial in St. Munchin's Cemetery, Cameron, MO at 4:30 p.m. A Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m., Monday, August 8, 2011, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee followed by visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
