Billy Reed, 36, of Kansas City, KS passed away on December 8th, 2021. He was born on February 10th, 1985 in Olathe, Kansas to William Reed and Patricia Ruether. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 15th from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee, Kansas. A prayer service will immediately follow at 7:00 pm.
Billy graduated from Olathe South High School in 2003. He worked at various employers throughout his life most recently at eGourmet Solutions. Billy had a big heart and a very kind soul. He was a loving son, brother and father. He was a talented hockey player and loved the Jayhawks, Royals and Chiefs. He had an appetite for a McDonald’s McRib, A1 Bold & Spicy Sauce and Siracha Sauce. He liked Art Bell, Nolan Ryan and the Simpsons and really enjoyed hanging out with his family and friends.
Billy was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James “Shady” and Beverly Reed; maternal grandfather, Norman Lietz; and brother, Gentry Reed. He is survived by his wife, Amanda Poker; son, Nolan and step-daughter, Ophelia. Other survivors include his parents, Patricia (Greg) Ruether and William “Bill” Reed; step-brother, Brett Ruether; step-sisters, Meghan Worthington and Kristen Murphy; maternal grandmother, Jan Lietz, special friend, Amber Cantrell, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
You are at peace now, Bubba, and in heaven riding with Grandpa in his truck listening to polka tapes.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Billy's name may be made to The Salvation Army or My Father's House Community Services .
