William G. Spilker. 94, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away July 15, 2013, at his residence.
William was born February 28, 1919, in Frierson, Louisiana, to Charles and Margaret Spilker. William was a member of the Overland Park Presbyterian Church, VFW, American Legion, Railway Clerks Union, and Grantioch Neighborhood Association.
After retirement William volunteered many hours at the Johnson County Library. He was an avid fisherman and gardener, being noted for prize tomatoes. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1941- 1945 in the European Theatre.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie sons, William L. Spilker (Vicky), Thomas R. Spilker (Linda), and James M. Spilker (Shara); grandchildren, Kristin, Megan, Amy, Jennifer B, Jennifer, Jessica, Scott, and Brian; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Katherine, Oliver Scott, Brooks, and Calloway; and sister, Mae Burks, and Bell Buckley. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside service has been scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday July 18, 2013, at Antioch Pioneer Cemetery.
