William D Taylor

William Delbert Taylor 96, of Olathe, KS. passed away on April 22, 2024. William “Bill” was the second born of D. A. “Lonnie” and Agatha Taylor.  Bill’s early years were on a farm in Glasgow Mo. where he learned hard work and his Catholic faith.  As a young adult Bill went to college at Central Missouri State.  During this time he enlisted in the Merchant Marines and saw the world.  When he returned from service he finished his degree and married the love of his life Frances “Frankie” Field Stafford on August 27, 1955.  Bill and Frankie moved to Kansas City, MO and he taught math at Central High School. He started his career as an agent for State Farm Insurance in1956. In 1957 the first of their four children was born. Bill moved his family and office to South Kansas City in the Red Bridge area. There his agency grew and became a staple of the Red Bridge neighborhood. Bill & Frankie were parishioners of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Bill instilled his Catholic faith on his children by attending Mass and praying the rosary daily. Bill is proceeded in death by his wife Frankie (2015) and great granddaughter Piper Grace (2021). Bill leaves behind his 4 children, 11 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. “Granddaddy” will be greatly missed. A private Mass of Christian Burial took place on April 26, 2024 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Memorial donations can be made to Christ the King Catholic Church at 8500 Wornall Rd. Kansas City, MO 64114.
