William E. “Bill” Warner

September 11, 1940 — February 13, 2010

William E. “Bill” Warner, 69, of Shawnee, precious child of God, died February 13, 2010, at the Kansas City Hospice House. His family was with him.

Bill was born September 11, 1940, to Ruth and Victor Warner and raised on a farm near Iowa Falls, Iowa. He attended country school for nine years and graduated from Iowa Falls High School in 1958. He then attended Parsons College and went on to teach history at Fairfield High School. In 1968 he took a job in computer programming with Hallmark Cards. In 1981 he began his career as business owner of Contractors Appliance.

Bill was well- known and loved for his big heart, wry wit and infectious sense of humor. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, DeAnn Brooks Warner; children, Joy Warner of Mission, Kansas, and Rich Warner and daughter-in-law Kathe, and grandsons, Christopher and Matthew of Leawood, Kansas; brothers Jack, Bob, David; along with many other relatives.

Memorial gifts may be given to the church for missions or to Kansas City Hospice House.

Memorial Services

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Southminster Presbyterian Church.
