William “Bill” Harry Hammond, 68, of Merriam, Kansas passed away February 13th, 2022 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
Bill was born October 10th, 1953 in El Paso, Texas to Jack and Ruth Hammond. Remembrance of First Holy Communion April 9th, 1961. Bill proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He owned his own business Hammond Remodeling for 30 years. Bill raced at Lakeside and I-70, enjoying the sport he loved with family until he retired from racing. He also loved to travel to beautiful destinations with his wife, Nancy. He was also an avid animal lover.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert "Bob" Hammond.
He is survived by his wife Nancy Hammond of 27 years, his children Jeremy along with his wife Michelle Hammond and Kristi Hammond Dodds. His step-children Gregory Foster, Amber Foster and Andrea Menteer. His grandchildren, the Seven Wonders of the World, Skylar Hammond, Axton Hammond, Kailee Weber, Karsen Ashby, McKinley Dodds, Winter Weida and Emarie Foster. Mother-In-Law Helen Simmons, sister-in-law Susan Pitts and brother-in-law Brian Pitts; brothers, Jack Hammond, Chris Hammond, Kevin Hammond and sister, Donna Hammond Schnabel.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Indian School. P.O. Box 326, Chamberlain, SD 57326. Bill would also love it if everyone donated life and became and organ donor.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30 am, Monday, February 21st, 2022 at the Amos Family Funeral Home.
