William "Bill" Allen Scott

William “Bill” Scott, 64 of Westwood, Kansas died April 17, 2023 surrounded by his family at home.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday April 22, 2023 at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 4153 Rainbow Blvd, Kansas City, KS 66103.

Bill was born on July 18, 1958 to Lee and Agnes (Janssen) Scott in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the fourth of five siblings and carried his parents’ profound work ethic and desire to serve others into his own life.

Bill earned his Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering and his Master of Engineering from the University of Kansas, as well as his Master of Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati. He used his talents as an aerospace engineer at NASA, GE Aircraft Engines, Ford, PAS Technologies, and Honeywell.

Bill was a dedicated father to his three daughters and a devoted husband to his wife and the love of his life, Marty. He was a music lover who was fond of woodworking, cooking, and photography. A lifelong outdoorsman and an Eagle Scout, Bill enjoyed camping, canoeing, and bird watching. He spent much of his time serving at his church, where he taught Sunday school and Midweek and served a term as congregation president.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving family includes his beloved wife, Marty Scott; his children, Emily, Laura, Abby, and Michael; his children-in-law, Jason, Dave, and Julie; his grandchildren, Oliver, Jack, Gavin, Gage, and a baby expected in June; his siblings, Debby, Becky, David, and Lisa; and dogs Buddy and Howdy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Bill’s name to the Our Saviour Lutheran preschool program or the Johnson County Library Foundation.
