It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bill Slamin, who peacefully left this world on May 30, 2024, due to natural causes. Bill was born on September 22, 1930, in Waltham, MA.
Bill dedicated his life to the field of journalism and made significant contributions within the industry. He attended the KU School of Journalism, where he honed his skills and passion for storytelling. Throughout his career, Bill worked with a number of TV networks, achieving numerous career accomplishments on a national stage.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Bill's true joy came from his family, whom he cherished deeply. He leaves behind his beloved wife Joyce Slamin, sons Mark Slamin and Todd Slamin and his wife Mimi, and a host of grandchildren: Jared, Josh, Rachel, Caleb, Maren, Annabelle, Emma, and Zachary.
A man of deep faith, Bill found solace and strength in his Savior, Jesus Christ. His dedication to his family, friends, and church was unwavering, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Services to celebrate Bill's life will be held on Monday, June 10th, at 2 PM at The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located at 7100 Hadley in Overland Park, KS.
Bill Slamin will be remembered as a wonderful man who worked tirelessly for his loved ones and his community. A loving husband and father, his legacy of kindness and dedication will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in peace.
