William "Bill" Swarner

William “Bill” Swarner, 62, Merriam, KS sadly passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at his home in Merriam, KS.  Bill was born on December 12, 1960 in Kansas City, MO to Joseph and Patricia Swarner.

Bill worked in the construction industry for 20 years. He finished his career as an engineer for Union Pacific Railroad.

Bill was a great conversationist with a witty and sometimes charming personality which will be dearly missed. His greatest joy was being a proud uncle to his nephews and nieces.

Bill is survived by his brother, Joseph Swarner, Merriam, KS; sister, Janice McConnaughy (John McMurray), Overland Park, KS; 5 nephews, Josh, Joe, Spencer, Alex and Paul; 5 nieces, Amber, Jena, Melissa, Amanda, Nikaela; 8 great nephews; 2 great nieces.

Private graveside memorial service will be held on Friday, November 10th at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
