Wilma B. (Davis) Hambelton, 90, of Shawnee, KS died February 3, 2017 at her residence. Wilma was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, William M. Hambelton, her parents Merna and Mary Elizabeth Davis, 8 siblings and one grandson. Wilma is survived by her six children, Cassandra Williams (Richard), Paul Hambelton (Judith), Nancy White (Donald), Donna Sawyer (Neal), John Hambelton (Lisa) and Timothy Hambelton (Kristal), and a brother, Clyde Davis. She had 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren.
Wilma was born in 1926 in Barclay, Kansas. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church for 52 years. She was a devoted mother and housewife and valued family above all else. After her children were grown she worked in the florist industry and volunteered for several years for the Funeral Luncheon Committee at St. Joseph Church.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 7, 2017 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Amos Family Funeral Home, Shawnee, KS. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shawnee, KS followed by internment at Resurrection Cemetery in Lenexa, KS.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Joseph Funeral Luncheon Committee.
