Wilma Mae Sutton Hathaway

Wilma Mae Sutton Hathaway, 85, of Johnson County, Kansas, passed away on April 30, 2020.

Wilma was born on January 18, 1935 to Julia DeShaney Sutton and Bennie Sutton in Ironton, MO. After graduating from St. Louis Central in 1953, she married Robert Garner Hathaway and proceeded to raise four sons, Robert, David, Kenneth and Stephen.

Outside of her family, she was active in the church, most recently dedicating her time to the Lenexa Baptist Church in Kansas.  She was also a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Sedalia.

Wilma was predeceased by parents Julia and Bennie Sutton; brothers, Jim, William and Chet Sutton; sister, Dolly; husband Bob Hathaway; and son David Hathaway.  She is survived by three sons, Robert Hathaway (Beverly), Kenneth Hathaway (Jana), Steve Hathaway (Susan); daughter in law, Peggy Hathaway; seven grandchildren, Brooks Hathaway (Alicia), Brittany Goodwin (Joe), Lindsey Masterson (Kyle), Cally Hathaway, Aidan Hathaway, Connor Brafford, Anna Hathaway, Chris Enloe and Cody Yarbrough; and five great grandchildren, Ashlynn Goodwin, Aubry Hathaway, Teaguen Goodwin, Scarlet Hathaway and Cooper Hathaway.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
