Zona May (Park) Woods, 82, of Olathe, Kansas, died on January 18, 2021, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Olathe, Kansas.
Zona was born September 18, 1938, in her parents' house in La Tour, Missouri. Zona was the older daughter of Emmett Earl and Anna Bell (Goddard) Park. She grew up on her parents' 80-acre farm and graduated from high school in Garden City, Missouri. She left the farm for Kansas City, where she lived downtown and worked at Commerce Bank. While she spent most of her life living in Johnson County, Kansas, Zona lived in Oregon and Washington for a few years.
Zona had a feisty spirit, but she was the most caring and loving person you could ever meet. She always put her children and grandchildren first. She loved talking to people and never met a stranger. She was proud of her Irish heritage and would tell you all about it. Zona will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Zona was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Margaret Jones. Since Zona's passing, her son Ed passed away on February 25th, 2021. She is survived by her daughter Lisa McMullen (Jerry) of Olathe, Kansas; daughter-in-law Jill Woods; five grandchildren: Courtnie Woods, Bailee Woods, Ashlea Banks (Zach), John McMullen and Zoe McMullen; two great-grandchildren: Aislynn and Harlee Banks; and two nieces: Marsha Biesik (Quinn) and Marilyn Dilts.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 15th, 2021 at the Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee, Kansas. The service will begin at 11am and will be live-streamed for those who cannot physically attend.
