Helen Jean Cunningham

Helen Jean Cuningham, 96, of Overland Park, KS, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 4, 2023 at Santa Marta Skilled Nursing Facility.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, December 11, 2023 at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee with graveside services for family on Tuesday, December 12 ^th in Garnett, KS.  The family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Mrs. Cunningham was born in Garnett, KS.  She was employed by J.C. Penney Credit Office in Mission, KS, as a Customer Service Representative for nearly 30 years and retired from there in 1992. Helen loved playing the piano and enjoyed taking aerobic classes for over 30 years.  She always attributed her longevity to aerobics and walking regularly in the neighborhood.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Bobby D. Cunningham.  Survivors include a daughter, Cindy Cunningham, Olathe, KS; a son, Terry Cunningham, Overland Park, KS; a grandson, Ian Cunningham (Jessica) and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
