Kevin Michael Morrissey, 76, passed away on August 24th, 2022 at Brookdale Rosehill in Shawnee, Kansas.

Kevin was born on September 18th, 1945 to Robert and Mary Agnes Morrissey in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He grew up in the Omaha area and attended Creighton Prep High School, and graduated from Creighton University with a degree in accounting. Throughout college, Kevin was in the ROTC program, and after graduation began his Army career with First Cavalry.

After being in active duty for three years, he remained in the Reserves for twenty years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. Kevin was very proud of his service to our country.

Kevin worked as a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner for the majority of his life. He enjoyed working in the fraud and auditing fields, especially when he could catch the “bad guys.” During his career, Kevin was Vice President at First Data Corporation, Western Union and American Express.

He was an excellent father to his three children, Julie, Chris and Katie, and grandfather to his four grandchildren. He was lovingly known as “Bucko.” Kevin loved to golf, especially at the Air Force Academy, helicopters, genealogy, Euchre, shoot guns at the range, and travel to the mountains in Colorado where he and Mary Jo lived for 25 years. Kevin and Mary Jo enjoyed traveling to various locations on 5 continents.

He is preceded by his parents, and two brothers James Morrissey and Daniel Morrissey.

Kevin is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Jo Morrissey; children Julie (Tim) Seibold, Chris (Kip) Morrissey, and Katie Morrissey; grandchildren Aidan Morrissey, Andie Morrissey, Ryan Seibold, and Abby Seibold; siblings Roger (Cindy) Morrissey, Jan Motl, Tom (Susan) Morrissey, John Morrissey, Dianne Morrissey, and Jerry (Colleen) Morrissey and many nieces, nephews and friends who will miss him dearly.
